Vail Goblet Urn Outdoor Garden Fountain

The crew here at Landscaper Outlet just finished an installation last week of the Vail Goblet Urn Outdoor Garden Fountain, manufactured by Massarelli's. The overall difficulty level of this particular fountain installation was moderate. The customer had a perfect spot on his front lawn for the set up, and was smart enough to have power and water installed at the installation site.

We started by laying down the template to get the overall diameter of the pool, and traced it out on the lawn. Next, we dug out about 3-4 inches of dirt, inside the template area, making sure we kept it as level to the eye as possible. We then trenched out an area to lay our PVC piping down, which is used to snake the wire through for the pump power cord. Once it was trenched out, and our PVC pipe was in place we filled the area with 2-3 inches crushed blue gravel, and leveled it out.

Now that the ground was level, it was time to place the pool. We had to call in 8 extra men for this step.  Making sure that we had the center of the pool lined up with our PVC piping, we were able to lay it down flat, and snake the power cord of the pump through. With the pool in place it is now time to make sure that it was level. If a good job was done leveling out the crushed blue gravel, there should be no problem with the leveling of the pool. Placing the pool was overall the hardest part of the installation, and since the pool is 1 piece of cast stone concrete, it is extremely heavy. Not only is this pool extremely heavy, you also want to make sure you don't break it, and most important that nobody gets hurt. Now, that the pool is in place and level, it was time to place the pedestals, for the urns, inside the pool.  The pedestals were placed according to our customers preference, and can be placed in any configuration you choose.

With the pedestals now in place, it was time to place the urns on top of the pedestals, and make sure they are level as well. If they are not level you can level them out by using shims, that are supplied with each outdoor garden fountain we sell. Having completed the placement of the urns and making sure they are level, it is now time to connect the plumbing to the pump. Once the plumbing is in place, you should make sure that the pump and the plumbing is some what concealed, and there are no kinks in the hoses. After the plumbing is complete, you can now fill the pool with water, but do not turn the pump on yet. If the pump is turned on without any water in the pool, it will blow out, and can no longer be used. Once the pool is filled with water,  you can power up the pump and make any adjustments that are needed. On this particular fountain you want to make sure that you have enough pressure coming out of the top of each urn, and the water is coming out of the center of each urn as well. There might need to be a few adjustment made to make sure that the water is coming out of the center of the urns. The adjustments can be done with couplings and hosing, making some easy minor adjustments.

After this is complete your job is done and you can sit back to enjoy all of your hard work, and of course make sure your customer is happy.
